mozzarella cheese cubes
about 1-inch cubes

eggs
beaten

all-purpose flour

breadcrumbs
preferably Italian seasoned
1
tsp
garlic powder

tsp
dried oregano
oil for frying
vegetable or canola
Instructions
Place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow bowls.
Mix garlic powder and oregano into the breadcrumbs.
Roll each mozzarella cube in flour, dip into egg, then coat with breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumb coating for extra crispiness.
Place coated cheese bites on a tray and freeze for 30 minutes to prevent melting during frying.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the cheese bites in batches for 1–2 minutes or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with marinara sauce or your favorite dip.
Notes
For a spicy twist, add chili flakes to the breadcrumb mix. These bites are best served fresh!
