Ingredients
  

Cheese Bites

  • 16 mozzarella cheese cubes about 1-inch cubes
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups breadcrumbs preferably Italian seasoned
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • oil for frying vegetable or canola

Instructions
 

  • Place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow bowls.
  • Mix garlic powder and oregano into the breadcrumbs.
  • Roll each mozzarella cube in flour, dip into egg, then coat with breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumb coating for extra crispiness.
  • Place coated cheese bites on a tray and freeze for 30 minutes to prevent melting during frying.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the cheese bites in batches for 1–2 minutes or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot with marinara sauce or your favorite dip.

Notes

For a spicy twist, add chili flakes to the breadcrumb mix. These bites are best served fresh!
