  • Author: David Atikson
  • Total Time: 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Yield: 2 medium pizzas

Description

Soft, stretchy homemade pizza dough that bakes up golden and perfect every time. Freezer-friendly, no mixer required.

Ingredients

Warm water

Granulated sugar

Instant yeast (Platinum Yeast from Red Star)

Unbleached all-purpose flour

Extra-virgin olive oil

Salt

Cornmeal (for dusting)

Pizza sauce

Shredded mozzarella cheese

Garlic (optional)

Olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions

Whisk warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let rest 5 mins.

Add flour, oil, salt. Beat or mix until a dough forms.

Knead for 5 mins until soft and stretchy.

Let rise in greased bowl for 60–90 mins until doubled.

Preheat oven to 475°F. Grease and cornmeal your baking sheet.

Punch down dough, divide, and shape into a 12-inch circle.

Brush with oil, add garlic, sauce, cheese, and toppings.

Bake for 13–15 mins until golden and bubbly.

Slice and serve hot.

Notes

If dough shrinks during shaping, let it rest 5–10 minutes and try again.

To freeze: Wrap dough in plastic and freeze up to 3 months.

To reheat leftovers: Bake at 375°F for 5–8 minutes.
