Ingredients
1 lb Italian sausage (sweet or hot)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow onion, sliced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
1 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
12 oz penne or rigatoni pasta
Fresh basil, chopped (optional)
Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add sausage (casings removed) and cook until browned.
Add sliced peppers and onions; cook until softened.
Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
