Ingredients
¾ cup full-fat plain yogurt
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon garam masala
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
½ teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
8 ounces tomato sauce
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon tomato paste
½ tablespoon sugar
Fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
Add yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, ginger, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, salt, pepper, and cayenne to a Ziplock bag.
Add chicken and massage to coat. Marinate at least 3 hours or overnight.
Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken in batches until golden.
Add tomato sauce, cream, tomato paste, and sugar. Stir well.
Simmer on medium-low for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve hot with cilantro on top.
Notes
Serve with basmati rice or naan for a full meal.
