Description

An easy and classic Southern dessert made with fresh peaches and a golden biscuit-like crust. Perfect for summer gatherings or cozy evenings.


Ingredients

5–6 cups fresh peaches. sliced.

    1 tbsp lemon juice.

    ¾ cup sugar (for peaches).

    1 tsp cinnamon.

    1 cup all-purpose flour.

    ¾ cup sugar (for batter)

    1½ tsp baking powder.

    ½ tsp salt.

    ¾ cup milk.

    ½ cup melted butter


Instructions

      Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13 inch dish.

      Mix peaches with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Let sit 10 minutes.

      Melt butter in baking dish.

      Mix dry ingredients and milk for the batter. Do not overmix.

      Pour batter over butter. Spoon peaches on top. Do not stir.

      Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbling.

Notes

Use ripe peaches for best results. You can prep the filling ahead.
