Description
A crave-worthy cheeseburger salad made with seasoned beef, crispy pickles, tangy sauce, and fresh greens all the flavor of a burger without the bun.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
6 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sliced pickles
1/2 cup chopped cherry tomatoes
1/4 cup sliced red onion
For the dressing:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp yellow mustard
1 tsp white vinegar
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp paprika
1 tbsp chopped pickles or relish
Instructions
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with salt, garlic powder, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce until browned. Drain excess grease.
While the beef cooks, prep lettuce, cheese, pickles, tomatoes, and onions. Set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, garlic powder, paprika, and chopped pickles. Chill if desired.
To assemble, layer lettuce in a bowl, top with warm beef, then sprinkle cheese, pickles, tomatoes, and onion.
Drizzle the burger dressing generously over the salad.
Toss gently before serving, or serve dressing on the side.
Notes
Store beef, toppings, and dressing separately if making ahead.
Swap ground turkey or veggie crumbles for variation.
Make it spicy by adding jalapeños or chipotle to the dressing
