Description
Golden, crisp, and naturally sweet these baked sweet potato chips are the perfect healthy snack when cravings strike.
Ingredients
2 large sweet potatoes (orange-fleshed)
1 tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)
1/2 tsp sea salt
Optional: smoked paprika or rosemary`
Instructions
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and line 2 baking sheets with parchment.
Wash and slice sweet potatoes very thin using a mandolin.
Soak slices in cold water for 20 minutes, then dry thoroughly.
Toss with oil and season with salt (and optional spices).
Arrange slices in a single layer without overlap.
Bake for 15 minutes, flip, then bake another 10–15 minutes.
Watch closely in the last 5 minutes to prevent burning.
Let cool to crisp up further, then store airtight.
Notes
Soaking the slices helps remove starch for extra crispiness.
Don’t overcrowd the pan it steams instead of crisps.
No-oil version works great with silicone mats.
